In its July/August 2008 issue, Wealth Manager magazine ranked Waypoint Advisors 36th out of 478 of the nation's top wealth managers.  The ranking was based on average assets under management per client as of December 31, 2007.  Waypoint Advisors has consistently been ranked among the top 40 firms in the annual listing by Wealth Manager magazine, a resource for financial planners and investment advisors catering to the needs of high-net-worth individuals and families.

Waypoint Advisors was ranked 35th among 439 top wealth managers in the July/August 2006 issue of Wealth Manager magazine.  The next closest ranking by a firm in Hampton Roads was 293 on the list. It was the sixth annual ranking by Wealth Manager, a major information resource for financial planners and investment advisors and includes only firms offering financial planning services to high-net-worth individuals and families.

Waypoint Advisors has launched a philanthropic advisory practice to help individuals, families and foundations reach philanthropic goals through effective giving. Support includes strategies for giving, program administration and performance assessment.

Susanna Adams has joined Norfolk-based wealth management firm, Waypoint Advisors, as a philanthropic advisor. She will develop charitable giving strategies to help clients increase the effectiveness of their giving and will manage philanthropic instruments for affluent individuals and families. She most recently was vice president and charitable advisor for the charitable services group of Wachovia Bank in Atlanta. In addition to working with individuals, Ms. Adams has assisted non-profit institutions in the administration of their endowments and planned giving programs. A native of Virginia Beach, Ms. Adams is a graduate of Norfolk Academy and Wake Forest University.

Waypoint Advisors qualified for the inaugural listing of the Multi-Family Office Survey in the September 2004 issue of Bloomberg Wealth Manager.  Qualification was based on providing an extensive menu of family office services, a minimum average relationship size of $4 million and a minimum share of 25% of firm revenue coming from multi-generational relationships.

Regarding her firm's approach to client service, Patterson said, "We sit down with our families and help them plan how they want to use their wealth. What do they want their money to do for them and say about them. It's not just about transferring money. Clients also want to transfer their values."

Graham Spiers has joined Waypoint Advisors as chief investment officer, responsible for overseeing investment research and leading the firm's investment committee. He had been senior vice president and senior portfolio manager of the global asset allocation group at Putnam Investments in Boston.
